Denver, CO
Service-Learning Youth Trip 2026
Day 1- Saturday Driving to Nebraska
Happy travel day! We met at the church at 8:45am to say our goodbyes, eat donuts, and load up. Our first stop was in Lake City, Iowa for a quick bathroom break. After that we enjoyed singing songs/karaoke, playing games, reading, and sleeping. We stopped for lunch and I ate at chipotle as well as Panera for dinner. We got to the hotel in Kearney NE around 9pm and had fun watching love island together in room 201. After we got our giggles out we settled down for bed and dreamt of the 7 brew we were getting the next morning! Tomorrow we drive to Denver!

DaY 4- Tuesday Clothes sorting & horses
Hello from Colorado! We started our morning with breakfast and packing our lunches for the day.
Our first stop was at “A Precious Child”, where we were sorting through clothes. After that, we drove out to a rescue ranch to hang out with some horses! We spent the afternoon getting our hands dirty mucking out the paddocks and pastures. After we were done we swung by the community center for showers; then we came back and ate some lasagna for a late dinner. Once that was cleaned up we spent the evening hanging out and doing an evening devotion.
Then we hit the hay. We were all tired from a good day’s work!

DaY 2- Sunday Driving to Denver, CO
Another travel day. We traveled from the hotel in Kearney, NE to the church we are staying at in Denver, CO. We enjoyed more time in the vans with our groups. We played car games, sang songs, talked with each other and some of us took naps.
Finally, we made it to Denver, CO! We are all looking forward to getting settled in for the night and learning about what the plan is for us to do tomorrow!
DaY 5- Wednesday A Fun Day Off
Today is our day off, so we get to hike and go to the city! (This is the day most people had been waiting for.) We all woke up, ate breakfast, packed our lunches and got ready for the hike. There were two different hikes, both with stunning and rewarding views that were worth the wait.
Then we headed to the community center to shower and get ready for Boulder! Walking down the historic Pearl Street, we all looked for some souvenirs and sat down at a restaurant where my group met our awesome waitress Shannon.
After that we headed back and had our nightly devotion before heading out to enjoy the sunset and take some photos. After that we played a couple rounds of spoons before it was lights out on another great day.

Day 3- Monday Paint-A-Thon
The day started at seven 0’clock. We ate breakfast which consisted of yogurt, cereal, bagels, and various fruits. We packed our bags and got a debrief of what our day would look like from Rich as well as our Service-Learning Camp manager Jen.
Around nine we arrived at our service project; our mission for the day was helping an elderly man named Jon repaint the exterior of his house. We did this while partnered with Brothers Redevelopment for their Paint-A-Thon. We painted the whole time; unfortunately the weather was excessively hot but the owner was blessing us with lots of cookies, donuts, and water! Our group received lots of help and support from our team leader PJ who was very helpful.
Later we went to the Golden Community Center where we swam, played basketball, worked out and showered. When we got back to the church where we are staying, Dan’s group made us tacos for dinner. After dinner we gathered in a circle in the fellowship hall while Rich led us through our evening devotion before we headed off to bed.

DaY 6- Thursday
Service day number 3!
Today was one of our longer service days. It was my group’s day to set up breakfast. So we woke up around 6:30am to head upstairs and get breakfast ready for everyone that would be waking up at 6:45am. After we put out our breakfast we all packed our lunches, snacks, filled our waters, and finished getting ready for our long day ahead.
The first place we went to was the Food bank warehouse, where my group scooped and packaged granola.
After that everyone ate their lunches together, we also found a secret Crumbl stash that we devoured!! Then, we all loaded up into the vans to drive to our next place, Project cure.
At project cure we all sorted lots of medical supplies, almost playing a game of memory trying to figure out where everything went. Once we finally conquered sorting the medical things we all got into our vans to head back to church for the night.
At church my friends and I enjoyed a good 30 minutes of resting in our beds after our long day. Eventually we all woke to start packing up our things while Drew, Alex and Oliver made us dinner!
After we packed our things we got to enjoy Drew’s mac and cheese bar for dinner before we all went outside to play cards, sing songs, and watch the sunset.
To wrap up the night a bunch of us walked to the nearby Taco Bell for a little late night snack, we got our taco bell and then walked back to the church where a handful of us played spoons and uno before we all went to bed at 10:30pm.
