Paul: Love Him or Leave Him?
September 30 - November 11 Wednesdays at 4:30pm
Fireside Room
Dive deep into the Apostle Paul's letters with this seven-week Bible study led by Dr. Ron Troxel, and stick around afterward for community and a delicious meal prepared by Deacon Chef Bridgette Weber. Paul matters for Lutherans. Luther saw to that. But also, Luther's reliance on Paul's letters carries unexpected difficulties for the modern reader. The goal of this series is not to "rehabilitate Paul" but to ensure that we have heard him correctly.
WWJD?: More Than Just Talk
September 30 – December 2 Wednesdays at 7pm
Fireside Room
Note: No Meeting on 10/14 and 11/25
Jesus said, “Come and follow me (Matthew 4:19).” What does it mean to follow and live like Jesus in our world today? How do we work as his disciples? In such a time as this, a time that is marked by confusion, cruelty, and chaos where the name of Jesus is being used in ways that do not look like Jesus, WHAT WOULD JESUS DO? And how can we as a community link our arms and move our feet to embody his love by doing what he taught us: love our neighbors, build relationships, put faith into practice, and act together for justice and the common good.
Through Scripture, conversation, storytelling, relationship-building, and reflection, we will discover how Christ calls us to live our faith and take action for the benefit of our neighbor.
Whether you are regularly living out your faith in public or more uncertain how to do so, there is a place for you here. Come and see what we can do as a group of believers to positively impact our community.

Prayer can transform us – helping us to become love in the world. Connect with God and others while sampling a variety of prayer practices like journaling, Loving Kindness Meditation, Centering Prayer, the Examen and the Labyrinth, among others. Whether these practices are unknown to you or a beloved part of your spiritual practice – find new friends while praying together online in the comfort of your home. Become grounded in how the Spirit has wired YOU, and be fueled for action toward your unique calling. Going inward, grounded in God's love and mercy, builds faith, wisdom, courage and resilience for choosing the path of love and justice as we live our callings to participate in the healing of God's creation.
These sessions will be guided by a spiritual director and are made possible through a Lilly grant funded initiative at St. Catherine's University. Zoom link for the online sessions will be emailed after registration.
