Children, youth & Family Programming
Children, Youth and Family Ministry for 2025-2026
As part of a commitment to invest in forming faith in children, youth and families, Mount Olivet’s Council is eliminating fees for faith formation programming this year. We want to build a culture where children, youth and families know they can invite friends to church. Eliminating fees is a way to reduce barriers and to honor that faith is formed through life-giving intergenerational community rather than information transfer.
We ask families to still register your child(ren) in order to help us plan for programming, and we invite your partnership in supporting Mount Olivet’s mission and ministry, whether through your financial or volunteer support.

Programming Details and Fall Kick Off Dates
Wednesday kick off is September 17. Sunday Family Faith Explorers will begin September 14.
Wednesday Faith Explorers will be for 3 Year Olds to 5th Grade, with opportunities for 5th graders to experience the worship leadership milestone and participate in cross-over retreats with 6-9th graders.
6th-9th Grade will be focusing this year on faith stories, values, faith practices and community building.
10th-12th grade is centered in exploring our own faith journey through curiosity and community.
Dinner on Wednesdays!
As a result of community feedback on the survey about a Wednesday meal this fall, dinner will be served from 5-6 pm (suggested donation $5 per person) in the Community Room before worship. The first meal will be September 17, and Deacon Bridgette Weber of Axis Mundi Catering will be leading the Wednesday meal. Stay tuned for the volunteer sign up link!
Deacon Bridgette Weber, MDiv, MAL (they/she) is a recent graduate of United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities. Before entering ministry, Bridgette worked for many years with food—as a chef, farmer, and local food distribution manager—later serving in social services to expand food access. These experiences shaped a calling to bring people together around the table, where food becomes a place of nourishment, justice, and community. Bridgette’s passion is ensuring that all people have access to good food while caring for the earth, God’s creation, that sustains us all.
In Deacon Bridgette’s words, “To me, food is one of the holiest gifts from God. It’s at the heart of relationships, community, culture, and care for creation. When we source food from farmers and gardeners who truly take care of the earth, we are spreading God's gift of love all around. On Wednesday nights, I want to create a sacred food experience for the whole family, cooking classic family friendly meals made with the best ingredients I can find from farmers who care for the earth. My hope is that at each meal we can feel the presence of something sacred in our midst, and it inspires connection and joy.”
*Please note: The Monday meal will continue feeding our broader community with meals for curbside pick up! The Wednesday meal is in addition to the Monday meal.
