Children, youth & Family Programming
Children, Youth &Family Ministry
While we all savor these weeks of summer, fall is around the corner, and faith formation sign ups are now open! Because of Mount Olivet’s commitment to partner in faith formation with families, there are no program fees to sign up. Offering faith formation programming without fees reduces barriers for signing up and honor that faith is formed through life-giving inter-generational community rather than information transfer. We want to create a culture where children, youth and families know they can invite their friends to church and removing fees encourages a culture of invitation.
We ask families to sign up early in order to help us to better plan for programming, and we invite your partnership in supporting Mount Olivet’s mission and ministry, whether through your financial or volunteer support.

Wednesday Dinners
On Wednesday nights, dinner is served before worship and programming. We’re exploring serving dinner family style this fall to create space for everyone, including volunteers, to participate together.
Wednesday Dinners are led by Deacon Chef Bridgette Weber, MDiv, MAL (they/she), who is a recent graduate of United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities. Before entering ministry, Bridgette worked for many years with food—as a chef, farmer, and local food distribution manager—later serving in social services to expand food access. These experiences shaped a calling to bring people together around the table, where food becomes a place of nourishment, justice, and community. Bridgette’s passion is ensuring that all people have access to good food while caring for the earth, God’s creation, that sustains us all.
In Deacon Bridgette’s words, “To me, food is one of the holiest gifts from God. It’s at the heart of relationships, community, culture, and care for creation. When we source food from farmers and gardeners who truly take care of the earth, we are spreading God's gift of love all around. On Wednesday nights, I want to create a sacred food experience for the whole family, cooking classic family friendly meals made with the best ingredients I can find from farmers who care for the earth. My hope is that at each meal we can feel the presence of something sacred in our midst, and it inspires connection and joy.”
