PARTNERSHIP CHURCHES

Mount Olivet · Trinity Lutheran Congregation · Nokomis Heights Lutheran Church · St. Peder’s Lutheran Church

Mount Olivet is in an ongoing partnership with three local urban churches—started in 2006 during a bible study with members from Trinity, Mount Olivet and Nokomis. Through discernment, the congregations came to recognize similarities, and richness in differences that would lead to a meaningful relationship together.

ANNUAL WORSHIP

Sunday, June 26 · 10:30am - 12:30pm · Augsburg College Hoverston Chapel

Our partner congregations come together each summer to worship, rotating who hosts each year. These gatherings provide new experiences, shared mission, and community together. This year, Trinity Lutheran will host in Minneapolis at the Augsburg College Hoverston Chapel. Join Pastor Beth and Summer Anthony to represent Mount Olivet this year!

WHAT TO EXPECT

Guest Preacher: Minneapolis Area Synod Bishop, Rev. Ann Svennungsen
Rev. Ann Svennungsen was elected as Bishop in 2012 in a historic vote at Shepherd of the Lake Lutheran Church, making her the first woman to serve as bishop in any of the ELCA’s six Minnesota synods. So great to have the bishop join us to celebrate this wonderful partnership!

Experience the diversity of our partners:
Worship will feature multiple languages during the service, reflecting the many languages spoken by members of all the congregations.

Lunch to follow the service:
Sandwiches, chips, and opportunity to try Ethiopian dishes!

Transportation:
There will not be a bus this year. If you would like to carpool or caravan with other MO members, please meet in the lower parking lot at Mount Olivet, ready to depart at 9:30am. Pastor Beth will lead the caravan.

Parking:
Parking is available throughout the Augsburg College campus. Alternatively, Augsburg is a short distance from bus and light rail stops.
For directions or help figuring out parking, please contact Summer (santhony@moply.org).
