Seeking Site Coordinator for Loaves and Fishes Community Meal at MO
The Open Hearts team has been getting ready for our community meal with Loaves and Fishes to begin when kitchen construction is done. We have identified the need for a Site Coordinator, a lead volunteer position responsible for welcoming guests, overseeing the meal, and recruiting and supporting volunteers. We anticipate a time commitment of about 5 hours a week. Reach out to Pastor Joel or Deb McDonald, if you are interested or have questions.
A vision has come from these conversations
Mount Olivet has been called to step out in faith and form community. Over the last two years, we have intentionally listened to our community partners about their hopes and visions. Then, we listened to each other asking Mount Olivet members about how we are now called to serve our community.
What we heard was God’s Spirit inviting us to more creatively connect in our community.
We are asking:
How are we to connect more with each other here at Mount Olivet?
Who is in our neighborhood that we are meant to connect with?
What is our response to our neighbor who is hungry, homeless, or walking in transition?
We are called to BE OPEN and build a sense of belonging as we continue to extend God’s care and home in our community.
