5th-6th grade faith formation
In 5th-6th grade, we start the year with a focus on community building, so students get to know each other and build trust within their small groups and the larger group. Throughout the program year, we will explore key stories and themes of the Bible through hands on activities and small group conversations; for 2019-2020 we will be focusing on the New Testament. More than just gaining Bible knowledge, we want students to experience the Bible as a living Word FOR them. As we learn, play and serve together on Wednesday nights, we hope to find our place in God’s unfolding story.
Have a Bible? Bring it with you on Wednesday nights. Need a Bible? Contact Beth McGrew-King.
Worshipping together forms the foundation for faith formation, and we hope your family joins us regularly on Wednesday nights or Sunday mornings.
5th-12th students are invited to lead in worship throughout the year as readers, ushers, communion servers or greeters. We are excited about the transformation that happens in students and in our community as a whole when students lead.
5th – 6th Graders gather in the Youth Room every Wednesday as we eat together, learn and play together before breaking into small groups.
Starting in 5th grade, students are placed in small groups, and they will stay together as a group through Confirmation. Students in 5th-6th will typically dismiss from their small group rooms along the hallway by the Youth Room.
